What exactly is a vaping battery?
There would be no electronic cigarette without batteries of all sizes or integrated batteries.
Any electrical or electronic object needs a power source to function, and this is where our dear electronic cigarette batteries come into play!
Neither more nor less than the element that will make vaping possible, a battery is a component that must be taken care of and that must be maintained regularly to best optimize its lifespan but also and above all so that you are safe with your e-cig!
Safety with batteries is simply fundamental!
Often neglected by many vapers, safety with batteries is essential!
Indeed, a battery is an element composed of internal chemistry, with to date the vast majority of batteries operating with INR, IMR or ICR technologies.
The “I” designates Lithium, the R at the end to stipulate that the vape battery is round (therefore no link with chemistry) and finally, the middle letter corresponds to nickel (N), manganese (M) and finally C for cobalt.
Therefore, if an electronic cigarette battery is poorly maintained or is in contact with a metallic body, the internal chemistry is disturbed and that is where accidents can happen!
The wrap, the primary protection of a battery
Each battery has plastic protection around it, also partly covering the positive and negative poles. This is called a battery wrap.
The latter is present to limit as much as possible the contact of the battery with any metallic body, which could create degassing of the battery.
How to change it? Remove the damaged one by hand (therefore without a metal object), and carefully recover the insulating pad from the positive pole to put it back under the wrap in the same place. Insert your battery into the new wrap, heat everything with a hair dryer to shrink the wrap provided for this purpose (thermostatic) and you’re done!
Be careful when transporting batteries!
Another important thing: you don’t carry your batteries anyhow!
Forget immediately to put an electronic cigarette battery in your pocket… It just needs to come into contact with keys or coins for example, and that’s the tragedy!
To do this, use either silicone envelopes or plastic boxes that will allow you to be completely safe during transport.
